Laura & Preston take on the Amazing New York Race

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

NEW YORK, NY (September 15, 2008)—The Amazing New York Race, an urban scavenger hunt modeled after the popular CBS television reality TV program, will unveil its first-ever dog friendly version this Sunday, September 21 to be held in Brooklyn’s McCarren Park.

For the last xxxx years, some xxxx Amazing New York Race entrants have chased through city streets, searched for clues, navigated obstacle courses, and completed other tasks—all in the name of fun and competition. In lieu of racing around the world, participants cruise through the New York City boroughs and use the subway and their feet as a means to victory. Now, competitors and their canine partners will take part in a new offering of the Amazing New York Race staged exclusively in Brooklyn’s McCarren Park. Teams will be comprised of a minimum of two dogs and two individuals. The race is open to individuals and dogs of all ages and abilities. And, single entrants (one human and dog) are welcome to participate and will be matched with an appropriate partner on site. (more…)

I’ve been having these weird psychic moments lately.

I’ll say to myself, “Hmm, it would be really great if I could shoot a (insert cute dog breed here).”

And then a day or two later, a client will contact me with that kind of dog. It’s really strange, but so far it’s happened FOUR TIMES! (I should wish for something like winning the lottery and see what happens)

laura & prestonListen to the LIVE RADIO CHAT with Laura on Mix 106.5 WMVX!

The search is on CBS to find the Greatest American Dog. It’s a show Daune calls “this summer’s guilty pleasure.” Laura Nativo is a Hollywood producer who seems to have it all, Preston is her Pomeranian “son” with attitude. But, they were evicted from the show last week, and Daune asks Laura about the way the competition is playing out. Laura tells all about the show-mance with Travis, which trainers are too intense, and who she and Preston will continue to have a relationship outside the house.
Why DID Travis stand up for Beth Joy and Bella Starlet?? Laura knows, and so will you!

I <3 my friends @ PomRescue.com

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Mom and I were inspired today by a beautiful woman named Elaine Harris, her husband Ronnie, and their ever growing fur-amily of 11 pomeranians (and I think one big doggie!).  I spent 2 hours pawing around the Pom Rescue site, and was touched by the passion, generosity, and hope that Pom Rescue gives to dogs of my breed, who sadly were not brought into a family like mine or the Harris’.  Pom Rescue, like many incredible organizations, is making a difference in countless lives… and of course, being a proud pom :) I have a very special connection to my fellow pomeranians and little dog friends.

I hope all my healthy and healthy canines sniff around and reflect on how fortunate we are… and that our humans do a little something for those less fortunate in our honor. Please visit Pom Rescue, bark back about YOUR favorite doggie charity… and donate whatever you can to help!
